At Cheshire Medical Center, it is our priority to serve this community and to provide the best care, when you need it most. Our President and CEO is committed to helping us further that mission.

Greetings from Joe Perras, MD

President and CEO of Cheshire Medical Center

In early August, I joined Cheshire Medical Center as President and CEO and introduced myself through a similar message. Over the past few months, I’ve enjoyed meeting many of you at community events and in your homes, and I have been delighted to experience the strong sense of community pride and support for Cheshire. It is also clear that the communities we serve rely on us to provide outstanding clinical care and to be a trusted partner and resource.

The Cheshire team’s commitment to our mission — to lead our community to optimal health and wellness through clinical and service excellence, collaboration and compassion for every patient, every time — is the primary reason I came here. And I would go so far as to say it’s more than a commitment; it’s a passion. Our team is always here for you, and we are constantly striving to improve.

One way we are improving care is through our newly-opened family medicine clinic, Family & Community Care, in a beautifully renovated space at our West Campus on Maple Avenue. This clinic will improve access to primary care and integrated behavioral health services for patients of all ages. It will also serve as an educational site for future family physicians through our new Family Medicine Residency program, which will welcome its first six resident doctors next summer. And I am proud to share that Family & Community Care serves all members of our community, including those who seek gender-affirming healthcare.

In the past few months, we’ve hired multiple new surgeons in Orthopaedics, Urology, and Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat). We’ve welcomed new primary care providers; implemented a new, life-saving continuous renal replacement therapy system for patients facing kidney failure in our Intensive Care Unit, enabling them and their families to stay close to home while they receive treatment; and entered into an agreement with New England College that will serve to grow our nursing staff.

For more than 130 years, Cheshire Medical Center’s priority has been, and will continue to be, to serve the people of the Monadnock Region by providing the best care when and where you need it most.

I am thrilled to be part of this team and to be part of this community, and I am excited for our future.

On behalf of all of us at Cheshire Medical Center, best wishes for a happy, healthy holiday season!

Sincerely,

Joseph (Joe) Perras, MD
