"Keene is a fantastic place to raise my family and live a healthy life—and I'm proud that my daily work enriches the lives of my friends and neighbors."

Keene and the surrounding towns of the Monadnock Region offer a number of distinct advantages: an affordable cost of living, great schools, eclectic restaurants, a vibrant cultural scene, and convenient access to major urban centers.

Work, live, and thrive here!

The Monadnock Region of New Hampshire—named for the most hiked mountain in the US—is a place of spectacular natural beauty in a state consistently ranked within the Top Ten for overall quality of life. Let your soul come alive with the arts and your body thrive with diverse outdoor activities.

To break up your workday, Cheshire boasts extensive walking, cycling, and mountain bike trails right on our main campus that connect to the rail trails throughout Keene and surrounding towns.

It's easy to unwind on evenings and weekends, as our small City of Keene is rich with independent restaurants, community festivals, and family-friendly activities. Check out the community calendars at Discover Monadnock and The Keene Sentinel for events.

An easy drive to adventure

Keene is a mere half-hour drive from both Vermont and Massachusetts—many make the beautiful daily commute here from each state.

If you are craving urban fun, rolling surf, or soaring peaks, we are an easy two-hour drive from Boston, Massachusetts, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, or the beaches of Maine.

Many enjoy a completely different scene over long weekends via a four-hour drive Montreal, Canada—or just catch the train from Brattleboro, VT to Penn Station, NY, NY!
