Compassionate Care & Advocacy Clinic

The Compassionate Care and Advocacy Clinic provides comprehensive care to pediatric and adolescent patients where there are concerns of sexual abuse.

If you suspect your child is a victim of sexual abuse

Contact the Division of Children, Youth, and Families and Dartmouth Health Children's Child Advocacy and Protection Program.

We work with Dartmouth Health Children's Child Advocacy and Protection Program and the Child Advocacy Center of Cheshire County to help children who may have been sexually abused or teens who may be involved in unsafe sexual situations.

All concerns of child abuse are sent to a central team at Dartmouth Health Children's Child Advocacy and Protection Program. They:

  • Review each case
  • Determine the urgency of medical evaluation
  • Schedule an appointment at the appropriate location, including our clinic in Keene, New Hampshire.

We also receive referrals from pediatricians, family medicine providers, and the Child Advocacy Center of Cheshire County. We work collaboratively with them to provide forensic examinations. Our providers also participate in monthly case reviews and sit on the Child Advocacy Center's advisory board.

We offer a medical visit with a specially trained provider. At these visits, you and your child can ask questions. Family members, helpers, or child protection workers may also have questions or concerns.

Our forensic exams are provided in a welcoming environment that supports a child's individualized needs. While they can benefit from an exam regardless of when the incident occurred, your child will not be forced to complete an examination.
