Senior Passport: discount meal program

Seniors are special guests at Cheshire Medical Center, and those older than 60 qualify for the Senior Passport program.

The Art Nichols Cafe at Cheshire Medical Center is open to visitors and staff from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. It is located on the lower level of the main building. Beyond open hours, a vending machine in the dining area is stocked with fresh-made healthy snacks and sandwiches.

The cafe offers wholesome, affordable, and healthy food in a casual, cafeteria-style food court. Diners can sit and enjoy each other’s company or get in and out with a quick, hearty meal to go.

Weekly Menus

The following dining menus at Cheshire Medical Center are provided in PDF format.

Who prepares the food?

Professional and talented cooks prepare the food in the Art Nichols Cafe. All hold certification in food safety. The staff also makes meals for the hospital’s inpatients and their guests.

How do inpatients receive their meals?

Patients staying in our hospital order their meals using a room-service model. First, patients may need to work with Nutrition Services to design meals for their individual health needs. Then patients select food from a restaurant-style menu. Meals are delivered between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm.

Does Dining Services serve local food?

Dining Services prides itself on supporting local food. We source regional produce, seafood, meat, yogurt, bread and bagels, dairy, baked pastry, and fresh eggs for inpatient meals and the cafeteria. During the spring, summer, and fall seasons, our cafe hosts a local farmers’ market available for both staff and visitors.
