The Safety and Security Team recognizes and embraces our duty to ensure Cheshire Medical Center, and its satellite facilities, are safe, secure, and welcoming environments for our patients, visitors, care providers, and staff.

We are always available to assist 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please contact us anytime. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm. After office hours, call 603-354-5454 and the hospital operator will page Security for you.

Keeping everyone safe
Our security officers are here to keep you safe and to assist with any safety and security needs you may have. The list below provides some examples of the services the Security team can provide:
- Safety Escorts: If you are not comfortable walking to your vehicle in the parking lot alone, a security officer can escort you to your vehicle to enhance your safety.
- Vehicle Assistance: If you are having an issue with your vehicle such as vehicle lock-outs, jump starts and tire inflation, we can assist you.
- Secure Valuables: If you are a patient and have valuables that you would like to have secured, we can lock your valuables up in our security office.
- Secure Weapons: If you did not know that weapons are prohibited at the Cheshire Medical Center and satellite facilities, and you brought a weapon into one of our facilities, we can secure it for you until you are ready to leave.
- Special Security Needs: If you have any special security needs or concerns that require our awareness, contact us and we may be able to develop safety plan to ensure you feel safe during your time with us.
Policies
- Aggression Zero-Tolerance Policy: Cheshire Medical Center has a zero-tolerance policy for any type of aggression, including abusive language or verbal harassment, sexual harassment, threats of harm, or physical assault. Aggression may result in removal from the facility and/or criminal prosecution.
- No Weapons Policy: We do not permit patients or visitors to carry or possess weapons of any kind at the Cheshire Medical Center or satellite facilities. Weapons include firearms, knives, mace (pepper sprays), stun devices (TASERs etc.) or any other instruments designed to cause harm or incapacitation. Please leave your weapons at home, lock them in your vehicle prior to entry into the facility or contact security officers for assistance securing them in a lock-box in the Security Office.
- No Alcohol Policy: Patients and visitors are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages into Cheshire Medical Center or its satellite facilities.
- No Illicit Drugs Policy: Illicit drugs are strictly prohibited at Cheshire Medical Center and its satellite facilities. Illicit drugs found on persons or in their possessions will be seized and turned over to local police for destruction and/or investigation that could lead to criminal prosecution.
- No Smoking/Vaping Policy: Smoking and vaping is prohibited in or around the Cheshire Medical Center and satellite facilities. This includes parking lots and walking trails.
Please note that the Cheshire Medical Center and satelitte facilities are private property. As such, security officers have the legal authority to search persons or property brought into our facilities. If a person refuses to allow a search, that person may be asked to leave.
