Nutrition Services

Proper nourishment is always important to good health. Finding the best diet for your body and health concerns isn’t easy, but professional support can help.

Cheshire’s registered dietitians understand that your body’s needs are different from everyone else’s. Using the latest science, you and your dietitian work together to meet both your current and long-term health goals.

As an outpatient

Cheshire’s nutrition staff is trained in a wide range of medical issues and works with you to create a personalized set of goals.

Your provider may refer you to one of our dietitians for one of the following conditions:

  • Digestive system issues, including Crohn’s, colitis and other issues
  • Eating disorders
  • Food allergies, sensitivities, or autoimmune diseases such as celiac sprue
  • Heart disease
  • Nutrition during cancer treatment
  • Obesity
  • Prediabetes or diabetes
  • Pregnancy or new motherhood
  • Any other nutritional issue you and your provider care about

Ruth Goldstein, MS, RD, and Cheshire's Nutrition Services team help patients like you integrate nourishing food into your life—taking into account your individual health and lifestyle needs.

However, they have plenty of knowledge to share that could benefit anyone. Find tips and tools from our Registered Dietitians in our Healthy Eating blog series.

As an inpatient

Whatever the reason for your hospital stay, your dietitian ensures healthy and good-tasting food that is right for your medical condition. Dietitians work closely with all members of your health care team—doctors, nurses, pharmacists and others—to provide the right nutrition while you’re here and to advise you on the best diet for when you go home.
