Neal Goldenberg, MD, MA, orthopaedic surgeon and director of sports medicine at Cheshire Medical Center, has been added to the 2025 “40 Under Forty” list by the New Hampshire Union Leader. The annual recognition showcases dedicated young professionals who are difference-makers in their careers and communities.
Goldenberg has worked at Cheshire, a member of Dartmouth Health, since 2021. He specializes in sports medicine, caring for active individuals of all ages. His skills include arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, non-operative and operative fracture care, and knee and shoulder replacement surgery.
“Dr. Goldenberg is a dedicated and community-oriented sports medicine physician who always goes above and beyond for his patients and our community,” said Gina L. O’Brien, MD, MBA, CPE, Cheshire’s chief medical officer.
Prior to coming to Cheshire, Goldenberg completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program, where he was an intern, resident and chief resident.
Goldenberg earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He holds a Master of Arts in biology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
“While I was not born in New Hampshire, I feel incredibly lucky to have found Keene,” Goldenberg said. “My wife and I have found community, a great group of friends and jobs that bring us immense satisfaction. This has motivated me to give back to the community that has given us so much.”
Since its inception in 2002, the New Hampshire Union Leader's annual "40 Under Forty" awards have honored hundreds of outstanding Granite Staters who are making a difference in their communities and professions. A reception for the 40 Under Forty Class of 2025 will be held on March 12 at the Capitol Theater Center for the Arts in Concord.
