Community support helps Cheshire Medical Center provide and keep exceptional care close to home for all of us. Right now, Cheshire needs your help to fund the purchase of $554,000 of new patient care equipment and technology.
The most advanced technology available
Caring for our patients is always Cheshire's first priority. By donating to our Patient Care Equipment Fund, you will help us bring specialized equipment to the Medical Center that will improve the care experience for patients and that of their medical team. Cheshire needs to purchase ten new Servo-U ventilators for its intensive care unit, replacing older models that will soon be obsolete. Having this equipment will prevent patients needing this kind of respiratory support from being transferred away from our local hospital to a facility outside our community.
Our equipment needs also include upgrading the nurse call system on the Thompson in-patient unit. Doing so will improve communication and response times between patients and their care teams, helping to improve safety.
A new infant security system for our Women and Children's Health Unit (WACHU) will help protect some of the Medical Center's most vulnerable patients. This technology will sync with Cheshire's security system to keep newborns safe by triggering alarms, locking doors and stopping elevators. As hard as it is to believe, kidnappings in hospitals do happen around the country.
